O Artesão Borowczyk

O Artesão Borowczyk, curtas de animação de Walerian Borowczyk

On June 21st 1887, on the railway line from Paris to Saint-Germain-en-Laye, at the level crossing located at kilometre 12, a cart was struck and overturned by train number 17. The horse was killed and three people were taken to the Chatou hospital. The Vesinet police arrived at the scene of the accident to help the passengers transfer their baggage onto another train. No one appeared to claim a leather trunk covered with numerous labels bearing the names of the most fashionable international hotels and boarding houses. In the owners’s absence, the police were obliged to write a report on the contents of the suitcase. The document is preserved at the archives of the Transport Mininistry.
A letter found at the bottom of the trunk and addressed to Madame Jeanne-Loiuse-Henriette d’A. led one to believe that the bag belonged to this same person. When questioned, Madame d’A. declared most emphatically that the trunk did not belong to her, that surely the letter, fallen from her left pocket, then blown by the blast of air produced at the moment of collision, had by chance slipped inside the trunk in question.
It is easy to understand why Madame Jeanne-Lois-Henriette did not wish to identify herself as the owner of the accursed trunk: among its contents was an object of feminine auto-eroticism.
It is not known how or when the trunk disappeared from the storage locker of the Vesinet police station; today I am the one in possession of this picturesque luggage with all its precious contents.
The object that caused Mme. D’A so much trouble is a representation of a male member of ample wood root. The larger end of the device features a sepia toned photograph now faded, in which one can discern the features of a handsome, bearded man. A small mirror incorporated into the case of the apparatus is designed to prevent one losing sight of one’s lover for the entire period of the sex act. An instrument of not altogether solitary pleasure, elegant and surprising.
To date – a century after the train accident – none of the heirs of Madame Jeanne-Loise-Henriette d’A. has come forward to claim the inheritance.
Actually, there was one. But he was an impostor, unable to prove his kinship to the man with the beard, whom he claimed was his grandfather.
